When a Security Door Lock Malfunctions: Troubleshooting Methods
1. Hinge Making Noise
- When opening or closing the security door, if the hinge produces noise, it can be bothersome, especially if someone is resting in the house and gets disturbed.
- Try adjusting the hinge screws to align the hinge pins on the same axis. Alternatively, slightly loosen the two screws of the middle hinge on the door frame, which may reduce the noise. Apply lubricating oil appropriately for lubrication.
2. Stiff or Tight Door Lock
- If the door leaf sinks due to loose hinge parts, tighten the hinge screws and periodically check their tightness as friction during use can cause them to loosen.
- If the door leaf is difficult to open smoothly due to its weight or hinge-related issues, avoid using excessive force with a key to prevent it from breaking.
3. External Lock Cylinder Cannot be Opened
- External lock cylinders can become misaligned due to deliberate damage, causing the lock cylinder to be unable to open.
- If glue or foreign objects are injected into the lock cylinder, it can also prevent the lock cylinder from opening. In such cases, repair is necessary.
